This year for the conference was in Chicago, so we took the opportunity to offer a tour to 25 attendees to come down to Pullman for the afternoon. The tour was organized by Sarah Scarlet and Laura Rouleau, and Steve Walton attended as well.<\/p>\n<p>We spent about three hours walking around the planned community, lead by\u00a0Michael Shymanski, president of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pullmanil.org\/default.htm\">Historic Pullman Foundation<\/a>. The attendees got to see inside the visitor Center,\u00a0Greenstone church, and a restored worker&#8217;s\u00a0flat (shown by Cynthia Martin-McMahon, HPFs vice-president.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/aha.confex.com\/aha\/2014\/webprogram\/Session9815.html\" target=\"_blank\">theme of this year&#8217;s conference was &#8220;contested spaces&#8221;<\/a> in Pullman certainly offers a excellent case study for that theme.
